Kasian Architects called late last fall asking me to look after photographing the newly completed Augustana Campus in Camrose. This campus is one Western Canada’s premier public Liberal Arts and Sciences facilities. Nestled on a ravine built adjacent to the original Augustana structure Kasian’s design called for a two storey structure with curtain walls of glass on both the west and east sides. Situated on the west side the foyer is a gathering place for students and staff complete with coffee shop, seating areas with fireplaces and the Augustana University store. The east side houses the library. The two storey curtain wall provides staff and students a serene and peaceful view looking out over the ravine. This facility was a treat to photograph. It has a personality of it’s own that changes depending on the time of day.
