I had the pleasure of traveling to Calgary last week to photograph a newly constructed home built by Kurmak Builders Inc. CEO Frank Gordon Cooper and his team built this new home for a Calgary couple. It’s design is unique featuring 9 and 10 foot ceilings both upstairs and down. This 1100 ft2 home main floor includes a large kitchen, eating area, mudroom with dog wash, main floor laundry, living room and adjacent library. As well as the large master suite with a full walk in closet and an ensuite you’d see in a ***** star hotel with water closet, walk-in shower, large tub and double vanity. Floorscapes Inc. provided all the flooring and suggested a brazilian hardwood that has been tastefully installed in a herring bone fashion in some rooms as well as horizontally in other rooms on the main floor. Downstairs there are two large bedrooms, a fitness room, family room with wet bar and a large glass enclosed steamroom with tub – the walls, floor and bench seats are heated to provide total comfort. A uniquely designed back entry makes it easy to come in from outside but does not feel like a basement entry. Overall this is an amazing house that has been well thought out, well built and tastefully decorated. Congratulations to Frank and his Kurmak team for doing an outstanding job. I hope there is more to come as I really enjoy capturing this kind of space.
